Hubertus Doetkotte graduated from Acadamy of Philosophy, Munich with a degree of  Master of Arts (M.A.) with main subjects natural philosophy, epistemology, and ethics. Following a teaching degree from the University of Munich, he worked for several years as a teacher in a secondary school. Since 2004, he is in charge of students who want to become a teacher at secondary schools at the Institute for Biology Education. His main interest is on bioethical issues and how to implement them in school. Their didactical implementation in school is also the focus of his doctoral thesis.
